Learning arithmetic skills in preschool lays the foundation for your child's mathematical understanding. For preschool children, learning arithmetic means not only learning about numbers and their symbols, but also developing concepts such as quantity and basic arithmetic operations like addition and subtraction.
Our character, Robin, takes your child into the "World of Numbers" and encourages them to explore mathematical concepts through playful activities and interactive learning methods. There are now two learning journeys with Robin the raccoon.
Find out here what the difference is between the two learning journeys and which one is best suited for your child.
This is what your child will learn with Robin “Numbers & Quantities” - Level 1
To develop a comprehensive understanding of numbers, upon which later more complex knowledge is built, solid basic mathematical knowledge is required. Robin guides your child into the "world of numbers." In the first learning adventure, "Numbers, Numbers & Quantities," your child can playfully explore the number range up to 10, as well as basic geometric shapes, through games on number sequences, quantity recognition, and writing numbers.
This is what your child will learn:
- To name and recognize surface shapes
- to know and write the numbers 0-10
- to distinguish similar numbers
- to recognize smaller quantities at first glance
- To compare, divide and combine quantities
- know the number sequence
- the one-to-one assignment, i.e. when adding an object you say the next number word.
- that a certain number is assigned to a certain quantity of objects.
- know the first arithmetic symbols
Previous knowledge:
Little needed, initial interest in numbers & shapes
This is what your child will learn with Robin "First Arithmetic up to 10" - Level 2
To help your child confidently navigate the number range up to 10 and solve their first calculations, the second learning adventure, "First Arithmetic up to 10," promotes flexibility and the discovery of connections in the number range up to 10. By sorting, ordering, and comparing numbers and quantities, your child will gain a deeper understanding of numbers and, building on this, learn to represent and solve addition and subtraction calculations.
This is what your child will learn:
- counting from 1-10
- Identify sets of objects up to 10 more and more automatically, without having to count.
- To compare quantities with words like 'more than', 'less than' and 'equal to' and with the symbols > , < and =
- To arrange numbers from 1-10 in ascending and descending order
- First addition and subtraction: Applying the concepts of addition and subtraction using the symbols + and -
- to understand the concept of the number 0 through subtraction
Previous knowledge:
Ideally, your child has some initial experience with numbers and can quickly recognize or count quantities.

Good to know: The second learning adventure, "First Arithmetic up to 10" - Level 2, can be played independently without having previously played the first adventure, "Numbers & Quantities" - Level 1. Which learning journey is appropriate depends on your child's abilities and needs.
We hope you enjoy your exciting learning journey through the world of words and letters with Mika!
